Capturing Carbon

The effects of climate change are already playing out on a global scale, and scientists warn devastation caused by extreme weather will only intensify as this century progresses unless humans take action to curb the emission of fossil fuels into the atmosphere. While that task is daunting on its own, simply reducing our emissions won't be enough to curtail global warming. We also need to find a way to remove carbon the atmosphere on a massive scale.

ASU professor Klaus Lackner has dedicated his career to solving that problem. He and his team at the Center for Negative Carbon Emissions have designed a device that can suck carbon out of the air and store it away.
