In 2004, when Immanuel Abraham was 14 years old and living in inner-city Chicago, his mother came across a newspaper ad announcing free music lessons. The family looked into it, and Immanuel's life changed forever. He picked up the violin, practiced relentlessly, and was able to attend the universities of Michigan and Arizona where he earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in 2019. He credits music with saving his life.
