The 2015 special bond election in Pima County saw a 40 percent turnout, and election officials expect about the same for Tuesday’s special election.
Most voters in the county will cast their ballots by mail.
“For this election we are going to have about half a million people eligible to vote here in Pima County. 320,000 of those received early ballots and about 150,000 of those have already been returned for verification,“ said Brad Nelson, director of Pima County Elections division.
If you still have a ballot, it's too late to mail it. Election officials must receive it by 7 p.m. Tuesday, so Nelson says you can drop it off on Election Day at any polling place.
Tuesday’s election is for two ballot propositions.
Prop 123 deals with changes to how K-12 schools are funded.
Prop 124 makes changes to the pension funds for public safety workers.
