A Date with Douglas

A look at the town’s new pilot program to promote tourism.

Douglas, Arizona was established as a mining operation in the early 1900s but has struggled economically since the smelter closed in the 1980s. Now, promoters are hoping a pilot program can boost some spirits and the economy.

Douglas, Arizona se estableció como una operación minera a los prinicipos de 1900, pero ha batallado económicamente desde el cierre de la fundición en los años ochenta. Ahora, los promotores esperan que un programa piloto pueda reanimar el ánimo y la economía.
