The University of Arizona football team is preparing for its first postseason bowl game since 2017. The Wildcats accepted an invitation to face Oklahoma University in the Alamo Bowl on December 28.
The game will be staged at the Alamodome Stadium in San Antonio, Texas.
Arizona finished the college football regular season ranked 14th in the country. Oklahoma is ranked 12th.
UA head coach Jedd Fisch says the game gives the Wildcats a chance to achieve a top-ten national ranking.
"We recognize it's going to be quite a football game," he said. "I'm excited about the way both teams score and also the way the teams defend."
The Alamo Bowl has been played every year since 1993. The Wildcats took part in the 2010 event and lost to Oklahoma State University 36-10.
Teams headed for Tucson's seventh Arizona Bowl have also been set. The University of Wyoming from the Mountain West Conference will meet the University of Toledo from the Mid-American Conference.
The game is set for December 30 at Arizona Stadium. It will be the third time Wyoming's played in the Arizona Bowl.
