On Saturday, in recognition of the return of American Graduate Day, NewsHour Weekend explores concerns about a fundamental educational issue in the state of Florida. Recently, the state mandated the 300 lowest-performing schools add an extra hour of reading instruction each day, the first in the country to implement such changes. While polices like this have improved reading scores in the past, not everyone is convinced the extra hour is the right solution.
