From the late 1940s through early 1950s, The Ed Sullivan Show, based in the heart of New York's theatre district, presented special performances with original cast members from the most beloved stage musicals of Broadway's golden age. Not seen for decades since their original broadcasts, these rare selections include legends Ethel Merman, Joel Grey, Julie Andrews, John Raitt, Gwen Verdon, Dick Van Dyke, Richard Burton and others in songs from such classics as Oklahoma!, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun, West Side Story, Sweet Charity and Camelot. This program is hosted by Broadway legend Shirley Jones. The pledge event features live -in studio pitching by show producers TJ Lubinsky and Greg Vines, along with Denise Richardson. Breaks also feature Broadway stage and screen stars Joel Gray and Shirley Jones, pop culture arts expert Rex Reed, and include many additional archival bonus clip excerpts featuring Julie Andrews, Richard Burton, Carol Channing, Celeste Holmes, Robert Merrill, Pat Suzuki, Yul Brynner, and more.
