The Monkeys

Season 1, Episode 2 of 3

The next major step came with the monkeys who also made the transition from night activity to day. This group shares more of our likeness: parental care, family life and social hierarchy. Monkeys moved successfully throughout Africa and Asia limited only by oceans, hot deserts, high mountains and extreme cold. New World monkeys split from their African relatives when South America separated. They are represented by the small primates like marmosets and tamarins.
