In this episode of The Drexel InterView, host Paula Marantz Cohen interviews Wendy Lesser, founder and editor of the important literary journal, The Threepenny Review. Lesser also is the author o9f numerous books, including-most recently-Why I Read: The Serious Pleasure of Books. Lesser discusses the kinds of literature she likes (not just classics, but science fiction and mystery novels), and how her tastes influence the kind of writing she publishes in The Threepenny Review. She explains her editing process, and reflects on how a business background has helped the journal stay afloat when other literary magazines have had to fold. Lesser further discusses her interest in television, painting, and music, and her openness to a non-hierarchical approach to the arts.
