PBS News Weekend

Season 4, Episode 18 of 99

On Sunday, NewsHour Weekend examines new research showing Holocaust survivors may pass some of their traumatic stress on to their children. The study reveals that traumatic events can alter a person's body chemistry, meaning the effects can be carried through generations, which increases the likelihood of developing stress disorders. NewsHour's Stephen Fee reports. Also on Sunday, NewsHour Weekend profiles South African photographer and activist Zanele Muholi, whose mission is to create visibility for black lesbian and transgender communities in her home country through her work. Her latest exhibit is currently on display at the Brooklyn Museum through November 2015.
