India is coming alive and flourishing economically. In fact, Citigroup estimates that by 2050, India will have the world's largest economy, larger than China or the United States. For many centuries, only the politically connected and elite prospered in India, while the rest of the population lived in poverty. However, with recent shifts that embrace a more liberal economic climate, things are changing. "India Awakes," hosted by noted Swedish author, commentator, and Cato Institute Senior Fellow Johan Norberg, follows three individuals who are working hard to improve not only their lives, but also the lives of those around them, illustrating how India is on a path to evolve as a preeminent world leader.
