Rodney Yee: The Practical Power Of Yoga

Episode 1 of 1

Rodney Yee is considered one of the foremost yoga masters and teachers in the world. Despite carrying such a serious mantle of respect he is also a warm, funny, accessible and happy man, and it is this combination of renowned knowledge and delightful personality that is at the heart of The Practical Power of Yoga. He is joined in this combination lecture and workshop by his partner (and wife) Colleen Saidman, herself a highly respected yoga teacher. As beautiful inside as she is on the outside (she is also a very successful model, and has been associated for many years with the Eileen Fisher line of women's clothing), Colleen brings a delicate wisdom to the yoga class experience. Together, they take their live and home audience through a thorough experience of classic yoga theory, philosophies and practice. They teach a variety of poses, and explain the "why" and health benefits of each pose. The special was taped in front of an audience ranging from complete yoga novices to experienced students, from young to old (including one 90-year-old woman); some of the audience participates on mats, while some are seated. Regardless, everyone becomes engaged in the program, while Rodney and Colleen walk among the members, correcting where needed, and encouraging everyone.
