Sometime in the coming days, a Rhode Island technician will flip a switch that signals a new dawn for the American energy sector: Pulling energy from the winds that roar over much of the vast United States coastline. A $300 million project in the Atlantic Ocean for five turbines off the coast of Rhode Island will power the tiny Block Island community. America's first offshore wind project is relatively small, but as NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Mike Taibbi reports on Sunday, the implications nationwide could be significant.
