Percy collects the mail, but is slowed down by the snow on the rails. Harold offers to help, but Percy thinks he is just trying to prove he is better at delivering the mail. When Percy runs into a snowdrift, Harold volunteers to take the letters for him. Percy is unhappy that he had to be helped. But when Harold doesn't come back from the delivery, it's Percy who searches for Harold and helps in return. Together they experience the spirit of Christmas! Frustrated, Donald suddenly pulls away, snapping a damaged coupling and moving away with Douglas's tender! Douglas is left behind in the snow - without coal or water! Once Donald realizes that Douglas is lost, he becomes determined to find his brother.
