The U.S. ranks first among developed nations in rates of both teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Numerous studies show one factor may be what schools are teaching -- or not teaching -- children about sex. There's also a correlation between high teenage pregnancy rates and the "abstinence only" sex education that has become more prevalent in the U.S. during the past two decades. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Yasmeen Qureshi went to one state, West Virginia, where some schools are trying to reverse these trends by moving to a more candid and comprehensive "sex ed" curriculum for children.
