LOVE & MURDER is a lustrous and lusty ballet, based on one of Malashock Dance's finest stage works. Filled with daring, highly stylized choreography, LOVE & MURDER is set in a hospital for the criminally insane, where the characters take turns detailing their crimes of passion and misdeeds through dance. Dancers bound through locations ranging from a harbor pier and a beautiful canyon in Balboa Park, to the haunting and sterile room of a psychiatric hospital. Through powerful imagery and music by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, the performances compellingly explore people's ability to justify almost any action.
