Evolution Of Waterskiing

Season 1, Episode 1 of 3

We examine the origins of waterskiing, highlighting the history and innovations that turned a daredevil act into an international recreational pastime and a multi-disciplined competitive sport. We go inside competitive 3 event waterskiing with POV cameras and skier interviews to find out what it is like to round six buoys in 16 seconds, ride a trick ski, fly 200 feet off a jump and compete in the prestigious Master's competition. Next we look at ski Racing where skiers race one another behind speedboats at speeds over a 100 mph. We find out how Twiggy the Waterskiing Squirrel learned to ski.
