Actor/comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney discuss their popular comedy Oh, Hello on Broadway, which features two 70-something, down-on-their-luck bachelor characters that John & Nick have been developing over the years in clubs, on TV and Off-Broadway. Next, we host a conversation on Shear Madness with its creators Marilyn Abrams and Bruce Jordan (also director of the production), plus the show's NYC leading man, Jordan Ahnquist. Thirty-seven years ago, Marilyn and Bruce acquired the rights to a gravely serious German play Scherenschnitt, in which the audience helps solve a murder mystery. They adapted it, initially for themselves to star in, keeping the crime and the audience participation, but adding campy characters, improv and constantly-updated topical jokes. The result is Shear Madness, now the longest-running play in the USA with productions staged all over the world.
