Boom Bust Boom

Episode 1 of 1

The economic crash of 2008 sent shockwaves around the globe, prompting many to question how experts failed to see it coming. However, this crash was not an isolated event: from the Tulip Mania of 1637 to the Wall Street crash of 1929, economic "boom and bust" cycles have been happening for centuries. Each has been fueled by uncontrolled speculation, a phenomenon that now seems almost intrinsic to human nature. Hosted by Monty Python's Terry Jones, the hour-long documentary BOOM BUST BOOM investigates the history of these events while looking for ways to avoid another global collapse in the future.
