In a textured narrative style, African-American filmmaker Regi Allen makes a sojourn to three West African countries - Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal - to separate truth from myth about the differences between black identity in Africa from black identity in the Diaspora. Allen raises as many questions as answers, often pointing the critical lens at himself. This episode is paired with a retrospective of 10 years of AFROPOP featuring interviews with past season hosts.
