Some of the featured stories and issues are: the collapse of the cod fishing industry and its economic consequences in Portugal and New England; rapid glacial melting and its significance in Peru and Bangladesh; the success of marine preserves in the Florida Keys and off the coast of Belize; and a first person essay by world-renowned oceanographer Sylvia Earle.
