Oregon photographer Christopher Burkett is best known for producing large-format prints of American landscapes, images he captures by foregoing digital technology and relying exclusively on film. During four decades of work, his technique has helped produce some of highest resolution color photographs ever created without modern computer technology. He is also one of a handful of photographers still printing from color transparency film onto a discontinued paper called Ilfochrome. Burkett now spends most of his time mining boxes of transparencies he's made over decades of travel in all 50 states, working patiently in his darkroom to craft each print. But he said he's racing the clock since he only has enough of the paper and chemicals he needs for the process to last for a few more years.
