GOV. DUCEY ON TEACHER PAY – Governor Ducey sits down with Lorraine Rivera, one-on-one, to discuss funding for public education and other issues that have come up since the start of the year. RED FOR ED WRAP – Arizona Daily Star reporter Hank Stephenson covers education policy and followed the Red for Ed movement closely. He discusses the impact protests had and the direction organizers are likely to take in the months ahead. FORMER SUPERINTENDENT ON ADMIN PAY – John Pedicone served as superintendent for both the Tucson Unified School District and the Flowing Wells Unified School District. He discusses how pay is determined for administrative staff, and why pay for superintendents can be in the six-figure range. UNIVERSITY HEALTH CARE – A look at an effort from the University of Arizona and Arizona State University to withdraw from the state health care system and set up programs on their own. They say it would reduce costs and improve coverage for nearly 50,000 employees and dependents. Members of the universities’ transgender community are strong advocates because they aren’t covered in the state’s plan. The state says if the universities left it would raise premiums for remaining employees.
