As the U.S. prison population surged in recent decades, so too has the number of children who've been left behind. Today, there are more than 5 million American kids who have seen a parent imprisoned - a situation that can have profound effects on a child. NewsHour Weekend's Megan Thompson traveled to Indiana, which has one of the highest rates of children with a parent behind bars, to profile a family that's struggled with incarceration and the mentoring program that's providing them help and support.
