In episode 2, Jerry continues working on "Church in the Wildwood" -- a beautiful country church which was photographed in South Dakota. Using soft-vine charcoal, sketches in where the church will go and blocks in the church structure. Now Jerry uses #4 sable script brush to add in the intermediate-sized trees which are slightly larger than the trees inserted as part of episode 1. Now with #4 bristle brush to stretch trees (cedars, pines) to get shape you want. Jerry discusses light-source techniques. With #4 sable script brush adds more form to the trees (saplings, trunk, branches, etc.). Jerry then starts the development of drifting snow creating a hazy effect carefully leaving pockets of negative space.
