Join us as host Brie Gabrielle introduces us to community-driven projects in visual art and theater, as well as a uniquely Key West art exhibition and festival. Mosaic of the Keys is an ambitious project developed by the Florida Keys Art Council to highlight the importance of the arts in this vibrant chain of island communities. With approximately 400 mini-canvases professional artists as well as amateur heeded the call to create unique pieces, which form an unforgettable mosaic mural. The Key West Art & Historical Society recently hosted a retrospective exhibition on the celebrated local multimedia artist, Roberta Marks. Join us as the curator, Cori Convertito, tours us through this remarkable show and illuminates the fascinating career of Roberta Marks. The Studios of Key West is famed for hosting cutting-edge projects in the realms of visual art and stage. Art Loft had the unique opportunity to sit in on a workshop related to "The Play Project," a collaboration among producers that aims to show audiences the process of developing plays, from script to stage. The Conch Republic Independence Celebration is an annual festival commemorating Key West's brief secession from the United States. For over 30 years Key West has hosted this fun-filled springtime celebration. Join us as we take to the streets of Key West for this colorful gathering of folks from near and far.
