When the Trump administration signaled earlier this year that it wants to add work requirements for social security programs like Medicaid, we looked at how those requirements have already affected residents of Maine. Now, in an update to our series "Chasing the Dream," which looks at poverty and opportunity in America, we will revisit how states are approaching the idea of work requirements for social security programs in a conversation with Sara Rosenbaum, a professor at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. We'll also break down the battle over those requirements in Kentucky, where the state's attempts to impose them have been blocked by a federal judge.
