A Trump administration plan to rescind work permits for spouses of some H-1B visa holders could make it harder for high-skilled workers to build lives in the U.S. As part of a crackdown on H-1B visas issued to foreign citizens who live and work in the United States, the Trump administration announced a plan to rescind an Obama-era program that allows some visa holder's spouses to work. The change would mean that nearly 100, 000 spouses, predominantly women from India who followed their husbands to the U.S., would lose their rights to work in this country.
