Shirley MacLaine's love of the theater began at a very early age. Her ballet training and long-legged pixie charm led her to rapid success on Broadway in musical comedy. Inevitably, Hollywood called and by 1955 Shirley was cast in Alfred Hitchcock's The Trouble with Harry. It wasn't long before she was offered dramatic roles opposite the most popular leading men of the time, including Fred MacMurray, Jack Lemmon, Frank Sinatra, Clint Eastwood and Robert Mitchum. Shirley MacLaine's films include The Apartment, Two For The Seesaw, The Turning Point, Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias and many more. This program also features on-camera appearances by actors Nicolas Cage, Jack Lemmon, and John Forsythe; directors Robert Wise and Herbert Ross; writer/director Robert Harling; and, former Congresswoman Bella Abzug.
