In episode 2, Jerry takes his students through the process of applying multiple layers of short, choppy vertical strokes to create phase one of the tall prairie grasses. He explains in detail how to use the #10 bristle brush to create very soft brush strokes - called "feathering" to create multiple values and tones of the grasses as well as showing proper moisture content and brush pressures to create varied affects.
