EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT: Arizona 360 looks at the history of the Equal Rights Amendment and the ongoing push by supporters to make Arizona the latest state to ratify the ERA. Lorraine Rivera discusses the issue with State Sen. Victoria Steele who introduced the measure in the Arizona Senate. Rivera learns more about the opposition from Briana Johnson with the Center for Arizona Policy in Phoenix. HANDS FREE BILL: SB1165 is the latest effort at the Arizona Legislature to ban texting while driving. It has backing from the Oro Valley Police Dept. In 2017, the Town of Oro Valley adopted its own distracted driving ordinance that prohibits drivers from holding a cell or other mobile device while driving. Lorraine Rivera sees how officers enforce the ordinance and speaks to Chief Daniel Sharp about his support for a statewide ban. PCC AVIATION TECH: Arizona 360 profiles Pima Community College’s Aviation Technology Program. It could see a $20 million boost if the legislature approves Gov. Ducey's proposed budget. It would be the first time the college received funding from the state since 2015. Arizona 360 looks at the program's successes and how PCC has adapted in recent years to meet growing demands for skilled labor.
