SHAKESPEARE: THE LEGACY, hosted and narrated by John Nettles (Midsomer Murders), commemorates the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death on April 23, 2016. In collaboration with Shakespeare's Birthplace Trust, the documentary unlocks some of the mysteries surrounding Shakespeare's life and the legacy of his work across the globe. John Nettles takes us on a journey through the dangerous and dynamic times of Shakespeare's life and reveals something of the real man who transformed the London theatre and the English language, yet remained a Stratford man. The actor examines the life of the Bard, investigating key moments and trying to discover what may have happened during a seven-year period when he has disappeared from historical records.
