Thousands of people from the South American country are fleeing to the U.S. and seeking asylum. Thousands of Venezuelan immigrants have been coming to the U.S. during the last few years, fleeing their country's political and economic crises. Many have settled in and around the city of Houston, Texas, which was already home to a large Venezuelan-American community. NewsHour Weekend's Ivette Feliciano met some of the new arrivals from Venezuela to learn about what they went through to get here and the challenges they face in a new country where their legal status remains uncertain.
