There are now more than 3.8 million undergraduate students who are raising children, representing 22 percent of all students attending colleges across the United States. Yet only about 8 percent of single mothers who are attending college will obtain a associate's or bachelor's degree within six years, according to the Institute for Women's Policy Research. About half of women who do not have children finish their college programs within the same time frame. NewsHour Weekend's Christopher Booker reports.
