COCHISE COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER: Lorraine Rivera speaks to Cochise County Sheriff Mark Dannels about how his department polices border-related crime, as well as how a new communications center has helped the county dispatch first responders more efficiently. ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILL: Arizona 360 learns more about how the University of Arizona Police Department tries to prepare for an active shooter situation. The department held a drill on campus this week to test officers’ skills and decision-making under stress. TPD CHIEF ON SANCTUARY CITIES: Tucson Police Chief Chris Magnus shares his views on the sanctuary city initiative appearing on the ballot this November. MISSING AND MUDERED INDIGENOUS WOMEN TASK FORCE: How Arizona is taking up the issue of reducing violence against indigenous women and girls by assembling a study committee to gather data on the issue and recommend policies. Arizona 360 heard from stakeholders at a ceremonial bill signing for HB 2570 which established the committee.
