TUSD SCHOOL BOARD RESIGNATION: Former Tucson Unified School District board member Mark Stegeman explains his recent resignation, challenges that TUSD continues to face, as well as what he sees as his biggest achievements during his 10 years on the board. AZ SUPERINTENDENT KATHY HOFFMAN: Arizona’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman joins Lorraine Rivera at Arizona Public Media to discuss her priorities in 2020, as well as reflect on her time in office so far. UNIONS IN ARIZONA: While union membership in Arizona falls below the national average, lately unions have made waves in a number of industries. Employment attorney Barney Holtzman explains workers’ rights under Arizona law. Arizona 360 also checks in on a nurses’ union in Tucson that formed within the last year, and with a journalist from the Arizona Republic where reporting staff are planning to vote on whether or not to establish their own union. NAFTA vs. USMCA: UA Associate Professor Jeff Kucik (CUE-sick) who studies trade law breaks down the differences between NAFTA, and its possible replacement known as the USMCA. He explains some of the implications if the new deal remains in its current holding pattern in Congress.
