COVID-19 CASES: In the weeks since Arizona’s stay at home order expired, confirmed cases of COVID-19 have continued to climb. University of Arizona researcher Dr. Joe Gerald discusses what data suggests about trends since the state eased restrictions. HOSPITALS RESPOND: Christopher Conover speaks to leaders with Banner Health and the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association about their concerns that rising cases of the novel coronavirus could put their ICUs at capacity. EMS IN NEW JERSEY: Local EMS Alex de Leon shares his experiences in New Jersey to assist frontline workers there and describes what it’ s like to work in a hot spot for COVID-19. LIBRARIES REOPEN: Since reopening branches, the Pima County Public Library system implemented new protocols to slow the spread of COVID-19. Tony Paniagua reports on those changes, as well as a new partnership the system has with Sunnyside Unified School District designed to help schools bridge the digital divides.
