Jason Freeman is a Memphis based songwriter who mixes the wisdom and lamentations of long-ago bluesmen with the raucous release in rock's unbridled beginnings, drawing them into an electric space that is truly his own. He wrote the score for MTV's "Savage County," contributed tracks to Craig Brewer's "Hustle & Flow" and "Footloose" and served as a tutor for Samuel L. Jackson as the actor studied for his bluesman role in Brewer's "Black Snake Moan." In this episode, Jason performs several songs and talks about the influences that shape his musical style.
