Advances in healthcare and changes in public policy has helped increase the life expectancy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, with many now living at home. But for the population of caregivers, many of them aging parents and relatives, there are concerns over who will continue to care for their family members when they can no longer do so. Christopher Booker reports on some steps being taken to support families.
