Mental Health and the Pandemic – The psychological distress that the COVID-19 pandemic has engendered, is deeply bound to social isolation and economic insecurity and has resulted in a global mental health crisis. Without stronger labor laws, social welfare programs and better access to mental health services, experts predict a rise in stress disorders, suicide rates and a lack of resiliency needed in order to adapt to and survive this pandemic. OSIRIS-REx - “Touch-And-Go” October 29, 2020, southern Arizonans and the world, watched as the OSIRIS-Rex spacecraft unfurled its robotic arm and briefly touched the asteroid Bennu. Arizona Illustrated producer Bryan Nelson and Photographer/Editor Nate Huffman were there to capture a unique behind-the-scene look at every anxious and exhilarating moment that culminated with a successful capture of dust and pebbles from the surface of ancient asteroid more than 200 million miles from Earth.
