New Horizons: Avai d'Amico was living in a "typical, suburban" large house in Rochester, Minnesota when he lost his job a few years ago. After thinking about the long, dreaded winters in his state and wanting to change his life, he decided to sell most of his possessions- including the five bedroom, 2K square foot house- and purchase a 180 square foot "tiny house" on wheels. He moved to Tucson and says it's one of the best decisions he's ever made. D'Amico has a business degree, but he's found his calling in cinematography and is currently working on a pilot comedy about life in a tiny house: The Tiny House Movie.
