Season 7, Episode 25 of 40

Restoring the Flora – Spadefoot Nursery: Are you a plant person? Gardening in the Sonoran Desert has its challenges. When to plant? Where to plant? But maybe the most important decision is what to plant. Native plants provide resources and habitat for many desert critters and insects. There is a small family run nursery who believes it is their mission to restore the native flora…Spadefoot Nursery. Pia Camil: Three Works: The new exhibition at MOCA Tucson is unique… there are only three pieces of art, but they take up the entire main gallery of the museum. And the artist could only participate virtually because of the pandemic. Pia Camil, who lives in Mexico City…uses fabric, textiles and personal artifacts to investigate the relationship of capitalism, consumption and community with interactive sculptures. We visit “Pia Camil: Three Works”. OSIRIS-REx - Touch-And-Go: On October 20, 2020, southern Arizonans and the world, watched as the OSIRIS-Rex spacecraft unfurled its robotic arm and briefly touched the asteroid Bennu. Arizona Illustrated producer Bryan Nelson and Photographer/Editor Nate Huffman were there to capture a unique behind-the-scenes look at every anxious and exhilarating moment that culminated with a successful capture of dust and pebbles from the surface of ancient asteroid more than 200 million miles from Earth.
