This week Arizona 360 explores the current uptick in apprehensions along the southern border. Lorraine Rivera hears from Border Patrol Yuma Sector Chief Chris Clem and Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot about what they see as the biggest challenges with enforcement. During a helicopter ride with CBP’s Air and Marine Operations, she sees how pilots assist with rescues in the Sonoran Desert. She also speaks to migrants about their journeys north and the dangers they have faced along the way. At Casa Alitas in Tucson, she hears from leaders of the non-governmental organization about how they’re assisting families who have been admitted into the United States. Arizona 360 also learns more about court backlogs from Tucson immigration attorney Patricia Mejia.
