Arizona Illustrated

Season 8, Episode 15 of 40

Olivier Mosset – A Retrospective: The Swiss-born artist Olivier Mosset has exhibited work in some of the most prestigious museums and galleries in the world but he lives a quiet life in Tucson, Arizona. His solo exhibition at the Tucson Museum of Art presents new large-scale monochrome paintings along with important works from his career, personal objects and an ephemeral ice sculpture. His work challenges notions of authorship and definitions of art and leaves the viewer to decide what to make of it. Angel’s Creek [Feb 2021 Encore Story]: We went along with Tucson environmentalist and wilderness educator Angel Breault to one of his favorite nature spots, Cienega Creek at the Gabe Zimmerman trailhead, about 27 miles east of Tucson. https://tv.azpm.org/p/season7/2021/2/21/189849-angels-creek/ Cutting Away: Fear is an essential part of human evolution; it alerts us of danger and should always be honored. But fear can also be used to control and prevent us from taking positive risks that often result in a profound sense of self-empowerment. To understand this better, we spent the day with Skydive Arizona to learn more about what compels the top world competitors in skydiving to devote their entire lives to the sport. They also explore the mental health benefits they have experienced and witnessed over their careers by continually facing the most visceral of fears - falling.
