Gordon Hirabayashi in 1942, was a senior student at the University of Washington, when government Executive Order 9066 mandated the forced removal of Japanese Americans in the Pacific Northwest. Gordon challenged the internment based on the grounds that the order violated his Constitutional freedoms. He turned himself into the FBI rather than report for relocation. He was convicted and sentenced to serve at the Federal Honor Camp in the Santa Catalina Mountains. It was a 43-year struggle to overturn the conviction. Producer/editor, John de Graaf. 1992
