Anne and Marilla cannot see eye-to-eye on farming tasks. Anne grows impatient with Marilla's style of working and insists on doing things 'her way'. Marilla frustrates Anne so much that she argues with her guardian. Anne's imagination helps her to see how Marilla's experience has helped shaped her opinions. While Anne doesn't change her own mind, she comes to respect the right for others to have differing points of view.
