Sesame Street

Grouchy Mother's Day

Season 42, Episode 37 of 99

It's Grouchy Mother's Day, and Oscar has ordered a fish bouquet for his mother. He wants this to be the worst Grouchy Mother's Day ever, especially because Oscar's mom thinks everything on Sesame Street is horribly nice. Oscar's sister, Bunny, drops in to celebrate, too. She gives her mom a dozen stinky fish, but Oscar only gives her six. Oscar adds that he also got their mom stinky perfume, but Bunny brought perfume with a real skunk applicator. Oscar and Bunny argue over whose present is stinkier while their mother remarks how she loves hearing her two children argue. Since Grouchy Mother's Day isn't just about getting presents, Oscar has planned for them to go on a trip to the dump. As they try to start the car, everyone on Sesame Street comes up to them. Oscar's mom thinks everyone on Sesame Street is too nice! Oscar finally fixes the car, which makes his mom even angrier. What kind of Grouch fixes things? Bunny thinks that Oscar has lost his grouchiness. Oscar's mom wants to take Bunny back to Grouchland before she loses her grouchiness too. To prove to his mom and sister just how grouchy he really is, Oscar has Bob, Gordon, and Chris sing a Grouchy Mother's Day song. It's the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. Her day is ruined by both of her kids. It's her grouchiest Mother's Day yet, and she feels lucky to have such rotten kids. THEME: Social Development Y / 12
