The collected tales within the book Wilderness Plotscapture the hardships, ironies and aspirations of early pioneer life in the Ohio Valley. It also captured the imagination of folk singer and songwriter Tim Grimm and fellow musicians Carrie Newcomer, Krista Detor, Michael White and Tom Roznowski who began writing songs inspired by Scott Russell Sanders' stories. Their innovative venture resulted in a genre-blending stage show. By turns romantic, tragic, elegiac and comic, WILDERNESS PLOTS: SONGS AND STORIES OF THE PRAIRIE features performances, as well as readings by Sanders, recorded in the historic Mitchell Opera House. Intimate interviews allow each artist to offer insight into their work, their perspectives, and their love for music, songwriting and history.
