Doo Wop's biggest and best hits are back, assembled into an all-new DVD collection featuring the most romantic teenage love songs for sweethearts. Following the recent major pledge success of Rock, Pop & Doo Wop, an updated classic arrives from the My Music archives. Hosts Jerry Butler and Cousin Brucie Morrow bring the backseat memories to the forefront in an updated PBS celebration of great vocal groups love songs. Recorded the weekend of May 16, 2007 at The Ritz Theatre in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the updated concert and pledge event will include a moving tribute segment to the beloved Johnny Maestro, original lead singer of The Crests and The Brooklyn Bridge, featuring several of his hits - some never-before-broadcast - from his last concert recorded for television. The TV program features performances from The Tokens, The Dubs, Larry Chance and the Earls, and a once in a lifetime reunion of The Original Drifters (Ben E. King, Charlie Thomas, Bobby Hendricks, and Bill Pinckney) featuring Bill Pinckney in his final television performance of 'Stand By Me', made for PBS.
