Season 1, Episode 14 of 52

AZ Illustrated Nature visits the small southeast Arizona community of Portal, where the Horseshoe 2 fire burned more than 200,000 acres in 2011, to learn about the damage to the local plants, animals and structures and get an update on the area two years later. Next, the residents of Alter Valley express concerns about the upcoming fire season and talk about the proposed Kinder-Morgan pipeline. And, southern Arizona residents talk about a new documentary, "Desert Dreams," being released by Tucson-based scientist and filmmaker Tom Wiewandt, PhD.
